Drone Operator

The Drone Operator is responsible for conducting drone spraying operations and safety tests, as well as evaluating the drone system's performance and troubleshooting mechanical issues.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for the drone spraying operations.
• Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight safety inspections to ensure safe and proper agricultural operations.
• Pilot drones while following a specific flight plan and obtaining useful footage.
• Analyze weather forecasts to ensure safe flights.
• Prepare the spraying maps and plan drone flight routes according to assigned duties & schedules.
• Navigate drones along designated paths.
• Gather information or produce aerial data, as needed.
• Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Any other related duties assigned.

Education/Training & Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent & drone operations certification
• At least (2) years’ work experience in a related field
• Sound knowledge of farm operations and agricultural processes

• Management of software related to the drone operation (Orthophoto, maps, GIS)
• Excellent hand-eye coordination & attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and people management skills
• High levels of initiative, integrity, flexibility and dependability
• Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time
