To assist in the Development and Management of data pipeline solutions that extracts, transforms and reproduces data into and the ICT team in achieving their Digital Strategy and thereby supporting the overarching vision and mission of ABIL Group.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 Database Administration
 Databases Architecture
 Database Backup and Recovery
 Database Architecture & Design
 Database Consolidation and Migration from old to newer versions
 Database Consistency & Integrity
 Database Normalization & synchronization
 Database Performance Tuning
 Database Security
 Database Documentation – Data Dictionary (MetaData)
 Experience with database management software
 Excellent Problem Solving and Project Management
 Executive and Management Reporting skills
 Must be able to and customize existing solution to make them fit for purpose
 Manage and monitor remote access to internal storage units
 Mastery of specific types of databases such as relational
 Mastery of communicating technical terms in a simplified/palatable form
 Establish the database access needs of users and monitor user access and security
 Monitor performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to front-end users
 Control access permissions and privileges and manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database
 Develop, manage and routinely test back-up and recovery plans and procedures 
 Efficiently manage all security and disaster recovery aspects of a database
 Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
 Conduct capacity planning and ensure databases are scalable to cater for growth within the Group of companies 
 Work closely with IT Project  Assistant/Managers, Application Programmers, Business Intelligence/Data Scientists and
    Software Engineers
 Must communicate regularly with Networking and technical, and Operational staff to ensure database integrity and
    security
 Commission and install new database solutions and customize existing databases  in order to make them fit for
    purpose
 Setup and administer Databases for Testing Teams 
 Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
 Commission and install new applications and customize existing database to make them fit for purpose
 Manage and monitor remote access to internal storage units
 Recommend and prescribe data storage solutions for on-premise, cloud and hybrid architecture
Education/Experience/Other Requirements
 A  bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Statistics. 
 A master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Statistics.  or  ICT related field.
 At least 6-8  years’ experience in Object-Oriented and data driven environments that support the full manufacturing
    model of business value chain.
