Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operation Services-Client Data Management Unit  team in the capacity of:

 

 

Data Quality Assurance Officer (Grade 3)

 

 

Conduct quality assurance for accuracy, completeness, reliability and timeliness of data within Insurance Operations Services.

 

 Ensure data used for underwriting, claims processing, actuarial analysis, client service and regulatory reporting meets high-quality standards and are compliant with regulations and documented procedures.

 

Develop and conduct intra department training programmes for core systems and procedures.

 

Work collaboratively with IT, various business units, compliance and data governance teams to uphold data integrity and support data-driven decision-making.

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Data Quality Assurance Officer, you will:

 

  • Develop and implement data quality assurance processes and controls across core insurance systems such as GIAS, CAPSIL and ProHealth.
  • Monitor data flows and conduct regular audits to detect inconsistencies, duplication, missing fields or outdated records.
  • Validate data accuracy between source systems and reporting tools.
  • Develop in-house training programs for existing and new team members.
  • Conduct new recruit training and refresher training with team members based on gaps/deficiency identified from audit and daily quality monitoring.
  • Update and maintain procedural manuals.
  • Investigate and document data quality issues, identifying root causes and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Escalate critical data issues to appropriate stakeholders and follow through to the resolution.
  • Support the enforcement of data governance policies and data stewardship practices.
  • Ensure data quality standards align with regulatory requirements such as DPA, AML, FATCA, and FSC regulations.
  • Create and maintain data quality dashboards and scorecards.
  • Document data quality procedures, business rules and metadata definitions.
  • Review current business practices and procedures to ensure that the most efficient solution is realized.
  • Lead and participate in formal and informal projects/initiatives for user testing of upgrades and modifications to existing or new software applications to improve inefficiencies.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

 

What do you need?

 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field, from a recognized tertiary institution. 
  • Three (3) years’ working experience in data quality assurance, data analysis, or data governance, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of local Data Privacy legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, data processing and management software, tools and/or technology systems.
  • Familiarity with insurance systems and terminology (e.g., policy lifecycle, claims, premiums) is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and data lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Effective interpersonal skills strong time management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
