Primary objective of the job:
As part of the digital transformation project team for Digicel, the Functional Data Migration Analyst role will take point on specific areas within the data migration entity scope. Supporting the migration from legacy system to the new BSS/OSS system. This role will serve as the main point person / data migration team owner of a grouping of data objects and expected to perform as the key representative for the data migration team to the organization in the pursuit and execution of transformation related to Business Software Specifications. This role will lead the development and delivery of the end-to-end solution based on target and business requirements. The successful candidate will also be expected to co-ordinate, execute and deliver along the whole data migration life cycle from source to target. Belonging to a team comprising of other technical and functional data migration SME’s and working in tandem with other members of the business and 3rd party partners to convert legacy data for use in the future BSS stack.
Successful candidate should be able to contribute to multiple levels of the relevant technical engagements including an initial technical overview, assessment of the data and design, deployment, configuration. You will be expected to lead on mapping workshops, provide guidance on the technical migration solution build and optimization as well as contribute to the migration plan. This is a fast-paced complexed environment with tight deadlines for upgrading and future proofing the systems, technology and the processes that will take Digicel well into the future.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analysis of legacy systems, data profiling and providing guidance to the data cleanse team.
- Run mapping work shops to determine source to target mapping as well as value mapping required for the target system
- Maintain and update mapping documents, gather & provide business rules and technical rules to support the development of ETL solution and delivery of data entities assigned to as owner.
- Support the trial migration process, SIT, UAT and Cutover data loads and issue remediation. Proactively engage with required parties to deliver a complete solution on time.
- Investigating quality and readiness of the data for migration between the legacy system to the new BSS/OSS and ensuring all the stakeholders have approved the data quality.
- Ensure the delivery of the solutions conforms to CMS target schema for the target system in the agreed timescales.
- Build and manage the excellent working relationships with our partners and developing this to meet our current and future needs.
- Work with partners to manage the performance and capacity of the technical domain by data object/entity.
- Contribute to definition of technical requirement specifications.
- Ensure the delivery of the solutions conforms to the functional requirements defined.
- Support the Data Migration Project Manager in project planning, risk and issue management, and the delivery of projects.

Qualifications, knowledge & experience:
- BSc. Computer Science / Information Technology and/or Oracle DBA/PL-SQL Certification/ 2 years’ experience working in a data migration role or similar BA type role
- This is not a technical role however working knowledge with at least 2 years’ experience in
- SQL and PL/SQL
- Knowledge of Python and Azure would be an asset
- Oracle databasesà 10g and up
- Knowledge of UNIX Systems and shell scripting.
- Core database concepts:
- Database design
- Design and Understand Data Flow and Entity Relationship Diagrams
- Basic Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies
Knowledge and understanding of:
- Data warehousing and data modelling techniques within Oracle environments.
- Extract, Transformation, and Load (ETL) tools.
Candidate must have:

Functional skills and abilities:
- Understanding of entire end-to-end data migration process life cycle
- Any understanding of IT provisioning and fulfilment systems, including work force management, network inventory, incident management within HSD, Voice and Television.
- Any knowledge of the process requirements for an OSS/BSS to successfully deliver a fixed service including workforce management (WFM) and truck roles
- Demonstrates specialist knowledge required for the role including relevant standards, regulations, frameworks, technologies, and processes. Will be able to demonstrate implementing and making recommendations for improvements that are in line with strategies.
