We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our team in Jamaica. In this role, you will assess application-only credit submissions by evaluating asset loan-to-value (LTV) ratios, reviewing the personal credit of guarantors, analyzing business credit histories, and reviewing personal and business background information to support sound, fast-paced credit decisions

šŸ“Š Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze credit applications for equipment financing using an application-only process.
  • Evaluate the personal credit profiles of individual guarantors, including credit bureau reports and payment histories.
  • Review business credit reports and history from sources such as D&B, Paynet, or similar.
  • Conduct personal and business background checks to identify any potential credit and/or character concerns.
  • Utilize public records, online searches, to verify applicant information.
  • Review and assess the loan-to-value (LTV) of equipment being financed based on market data and internal guidelines.
  • Concise communication with broker partners when additional information is needed to decision a transaction.
  • Summarize findings and provide clear, concise recommendations to the approving authority.
  • Maintain accurate credit files and ensure all documentation is captured in internal

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in credit analysis or underwriting, preferably in equipment finance or small-ticket commercial lending.
  • Solid understanding of credit reports, scoring models, and risk assessment for both individuals and businesses.
  • Familiarity with credit bureau platforms (e.g., Equifax, TransUnion) and business credit tools (e.g., D&B, Experian).
