Country Manager

Location – Guyana

Salary – Negotiable with relocation support, bonus and benefits

Sector – Logistics

Type – 3 year contract

 

 

Experience

-         10+ years experience in vessel and materials logistics in the oil and gas sector

-         Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in developing countries  

Track record of effective team leadership and strong administration skills

General functions:

  • Management and control of operations
  • Management and control of administration and finance
  • Selection – recruiting of personnel
  • Ensure coordination of actions and operations with customers
  • Ensure comprehension towards staff and clients of the commercial & operative actions and politic of THE COMPANY SA
  • Ensure a quality service and perception of same for all clients and outside authorities and suppliers and / or contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure weekly fund request and discussion with the Country Finance Manager & THE COMPANY HQ
  • Ensure monthly reporting follow up and discussion with the CFM and THE COMPANY HQ directors
  • Ensure annual elaboration of budget and discussion with the CFM and THE COMPANY HQ directors
  • Setting up and follow up of the daily reporting for finance, administration & individual operations & follow up of the commercial actions internally towards THE COMPANY HQ and THE COMPANY in country staff & externally towards all clients – sub agents etc concerned.

 

Particular functions-Duties:

  • To ensure that all spendings are agreed upon, authorised by management & justified within the course of functioning of the company and the operations. All spendings to be properly documented with relevant receipts where applicable.
  • Control and supervision of Staff and operations
  • Training of Staff
  • Setting up and organisation of the company, its offices and staff
  • Salary discussion with staff in agreement with THE COMPANY HQ
  • To Verify that.

a) All spending is booked into right client’s files.

b) All invoices approved with copies to files and originals to account books.

c) All files closed correctly and checked prior issuance of invoices. Either prior sending to HQ or issuance of invoices locally.

d) Proper communication prior or after operations in effected in due time

e) The control of salary advances and bookings done correctly.

  • To enforce and ensure a strict follow up of the legal Guyanese rules and customs as well as a professional and compliant behaviour.
  • To negotiate and justify any and all potential fines applied by any authorities to THE COMPANY.
  • To ensure right trade or official documentation is set and issued
  • To ensure the administrative and operational follow up of the files with the THE COMPANY staff.
  • To establish any and all documents relative to our activity
  • Ensure to relay THE COMPANY HQ company policy or announcement to the staff in country.

 

Quality – Environment & security – Compliance – FCPA:

  • Follow the QSHE & FCPA rules
    • of THE COMPANY
    • of clients
    • of oil companies
    • of ports and airports
  • to develop QHSE projects and rules applicable to THE COMPANY in country and to apply them
  • To define rules adequate for THE COMPANY in country and to propose them to THE COMPANY HQ.
