Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare food to be served in compliance with all sanitation, health, and hygiene standards, using established food production programs and procedures to minimise waste and ensure quality.
• Inspect ingredients and prepare meals in accordance with standardised recipes and specifications, meeting quantity requirements and exceeding quality expectations.
• Apply HACCP quality control procedures during storage and processing of raw materials and finished products; accurately complete temperature logs and ensure proper labelling, packaging, and storage.
• Blast chill prepared food within required time frames, record temperatures, segregate items, and store in designated holding chillers.
• Comply with Lean Manufacturing processes to promote efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in mandatory stock counts and contribute to accurate record-keeping.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organised work area and equipment at all times.
• Follow all HSE, PPE, HACCP, Food Safety, and Hygiene rules and regulations.
• Minimise waste and ensure all wastage is properly recorded.
• Follow all departmental policies and contribute during team meetings.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing food safety and operational standards.
• Must be willing and able to work on a shift system, including weekends and public holidays.
Qualifications & Skills
• Diploma or Certificate in Food Preparation, Culinary Arts, or Professional Cook’s training
• Practical knowledge of food preparation, garnishing, and event service
• Knowledge of basic First Aid is an asset
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in the food service industry and in a team-oriented environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
• Excellent understanding of kitchen hygiene, safety, and food quality standards
Physical Requirements
This role requires standing for extended periods. Regular breaks are recommended to maintain well-being during shifts.
