Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Construction Manager with a Master’s Degree and 7-10 years of proven experience to oversee all phases of our construction projects from planning to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical engineering knowledge and high-level project management skills. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strict safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Plan, direct, and coordinate all construction activities on assigned projects to ensure objectives are met.

  • Budget & Schedule Management: Develop and manage detailed project schedules and budgets. Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to prevent overruns or delays.

  • Contract Administration: Negotiate terms with agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses. Manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors.

  • Site Leadership: Supervise and mentor site engineers, foremen, and construction crews. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and safety.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers. Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior stakeholders.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure full compliance with Jamaican building codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: A Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is mandatory.

  • Experience: 7-10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects ($100M+ value).

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Procore, MS Project) and AutoCAD.

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations (local Parish Council and NEPA requirements).

  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively.

  • Certification: PMP certification or registration with the Professional Engineers Registration Board (PERB) is a distinct asset.
