We are looking for a seasoned Construction Manager with a Master’s Degree and 7-10 years of proven experience to oversee all phases of our construction projects from planning to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical engineering knowledge and high-level project management skills. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strict safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight: Plan, direct, and coordinate all construction activities on assigned projects to ensure objectives are met.
Budget & Schedule Management: Develop and manage detailed project schedules and budgets. Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to prevent overruns or delays.
Contract Administration: Negotiate terms with agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses. Manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
Site Leadership: Supervise and mentor site engineers, foremen, and construction crews. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and safety.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers. Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior stakeholders.
Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure full compliance with Jamaican building codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is mandatory.
Experience: 7-10 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects ($100M+ value).
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Procore, MS Project) and AutoCAD.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations (local Parish Council and NEPA requirements).
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
Certification: PMP certification or registration with the Professional Engineers Registration Board (PERB) is a distinct asset.
