As a Compensation Analyst, you play a critical role in our people consulting team, focusing on helping clients develop and implement effective total rewards and compensation strategies. This position involves analysing and evaluating compensation structures and programmes to ensure they are competitive and equitable. The Compensation Analyst will conduct data analysis, modelling, and actuarial assessments, collaborating with clients to create tailored compensation solutions that attract, retain, and motivate employees. You will also gain valuable experiences and a wealth of knowledge by being exposed to various capabilities, service offerings, and sectors. Working in multidisciplinary teams - often directly with leaders of major organisations, including the public service and private sectors - you will bring diverse perspectives to every challenge.
Key outputs/results expected:
- Comprehensive analysis of client compensation data to ensure alignment with industry standards and internal equity
- Development and maintenance of data models to support clients' compensation planning and decision-making processes
- Strategic recommendations for compensation adjustments and total rewards initiatives based on data analysis and market trends
- Accurate reporting on compensation metrics and trends to inform client management decisions
- Demonstrates technical excellence in compensation analysis through effective knowledge sharing and tailored communication with stakeholders
- Builds credible relationships with clients by understanding their organisational culture and compensation needs
Key responsibilities:
- Work in client engagement teams with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services – managing engagements to ensure profitable delivery
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of compensation strategies and tools
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills to understand the compensation related issues and challenges faced by our clients and to develop solutions which are innovative and fit for purpose
- Develop and maintain data models to forecast compensation trends and assess the impact of proposed changes for clients
- Conduct thorough analyses of client compensation data, including salary structures, pay grades, and incentive programmes
- Collaborate with clients to design and implement total rewards strategies that align with their organisational goals
- Prepare and present high-quality reports and presentations on compensation metrics, trends, and recommendations that adhere to professional standards
- Assist in the administration of client compensation programmes, with knowledge in job evaluation, compensation structure design and salary surveys
- Provide analytical support for compensation-related projects and initiatives for clients
- Experiment with compensation models and data analysis techniques to improve processes and generate insights for client projects
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies related to compensation practices for clients
To support the team, you should have:
- Solid academic background including a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in compensation analysis, data modelling, human resources, or providing consulting services in any of the following areas: compensation, payroll advisory and workforce strategies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights for clients
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, statistical software)
- Experience in developing total rewards programmes and/or project management is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented consulting environment - Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive client information
