Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Commissioning / Preservation Technician with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

 

Overview / Responsibilites

The Commissioning & Preservation Technician will be accountable for the delivery of Commissioning and Preservation execution activities across the portfolio. This includes management and control of Massy Wood’s Commissioning Services - Completions Management System (CMS) and Preservation Management System database, to ensure the CMS information contributes to an effective hand-over for the construction, commissioning and start-up phases across projects within the portfolio.

  • To provide support on-site testing, commissioning and planned maintenance scopes in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with approved standards, processes and documentation
  • To support the completion and management of quality / commissioning certification requirements for brownfield installations and modifications, to ensure all criteria are satisfied for commissioning, start-up and handover
  • To support the execution of active preservation activities for materials and equipment being stored prior to installation, to ensure materials maintain functionality and integrity
  • To ensure that the CMS application Preservation Management System, and all necessary supporting documentation are in place and in compliance with the requirements of Wood Commissioning Services, Quality requirements as well as client project objectives
  • Ensure that the Control of Work process, including the Permit to Work system requirements are adhered to at all times
  • Day‐to‐day management of the Preservation Management / CMS system to ensure data is up to date and that it is an accurate depiction of the status of the project
  • Coordination with Construction and Operations for the management of commissioning interfaces, to ensure transfer of care, custody and control through execution to project start-up
  • Coordination with Warehouse and Quality personnel for coverage of all Preservation active and passive preservation requirements
  • Review of engineering documentation to support the development of Commissioning Plans, Procedures and Strategies
  • Review of all preservation and maintenance requirements for engineered packages, materials and equipment to ensure no gaps
  • Development of Preservation Work Lists on the Preservation Management / CMS system to and Preservation / Maintenance Schedules to capture all active preservation or planned maintenance requirements at the required frequency
  • Interface with the Commissioning Lead regarding Preservation Requirements / Certification Requirements for Mechanical Completion, pre‐commissioning, commissioning, and handover
  • Development of Preservation and Certification Report and coordination of interface meetings with all relevant parties.

 

Qualifications

  • Instrumentation Technician’s Diploma (IIET) or Electrical Technician’s Diploma or equivalent certification in a related area of study and two (2) to three (3) years Oil & Gas experience in the relevant field.
Competencies & Experience:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in construction and commissioning in the oil and gas industry, with familiarity of the onshore and offshore sectors
  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET)
  • OSHA/Client’s Control of Work (COW) mandatory training
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements
  • Experience with any CMS software (GoCompletions etc.)
  • Good level of troubleshooting and operations knowledge
  • Related experience dealing with a variety of equipment for the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Ability to manage the Spares and Maintenance manuals
  • Must be a good communicator, and team player with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Familiar with Computer Applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications (MS Word & Excel).
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
