Support the implementation of the Child-Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI), working with local governments and partners to strengthen child participation, inclusive urban planning, and policies that promote the rights and well-being of children and adolescents.

The selected candidate will work with government institutions, civil society, and community partners to support the implementation and monitoring of child-friendly city strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and coordination of the Child-Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI) at national and local levels
• Facilitate collaboration between local governments, civil society organizations, and youth networks
• Promote meaningful participation of children and adolescents in local decision-making processes
• Support the development of policies, action plans, and initiatives aligned with child-friendly urban development
• Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and documentation of programme activities and results
• Assist in advocacy and communication efforts to promote child-friendly urban environments

Profile we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, urban planning, development studies, public policy, or a related field
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in urban development, child protection, youth engagement, or community development
• Experience working with government institutions, NGOs, or international organizations is an asset
• Strong coordination, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work in multicultural and collaborative environments

Languages

• Fluency in English is required
• Knowledge of additional Caribbean languages or dialects is considered an asset
