We are looking for an experienced and talented Chief Risk Officer (CRO). This position reports to the Managing Director.

THE ROLE: 

The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Goddard Enterprises Limited (GEL) is a senior executive responsible for leading the enterprise risk management framework across the Group. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team and Executive Management Committee, the CRO ensures effective risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all business functions and Divisional operations. The role partners with the Group CFO and Group ICT Manager, and contributes to the Board Audit, Risk, & Compliance Committee, aligning risk initiatives with strategic organizational goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement GEL’s enterprise risk management (ERM) strategy and framework.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize financial, operational, compliance, and technology risks.
  • Lead risk governance initiatives, policies, and controls across Divisions.
  • Provide risk reporting and analytics to the Executive Leadership Team and Board.
  • Chair the Executive Risk Committee and contribute to Board Audit, Risk & Compliance Committees.
  • Partner with Group CFO on financial risk oversight, market exposure, credit risk, and financial controls.
  • Collaborate with Group ICT Manager on cybersecurity, data protection, and emerging tech risks.
  • Monitor emerging risks including those related to digital transformation, AI, and cloud solutions.
  • Oversee operational, business continuity, reputational and ESG risks.
  • Ensure regulatory and legal compliance through audits, reviews, and proactive governance.
  • Direct enterprise-wide risk assessment programs and internal control evaluations.
  • Provide risk insights for M&A, investments, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop risk dashboards, KPIs, and risk appetite statements for organizational oversight.
  • Mentor leaders and support the alignment of business practices with a risk-aware culture across all Divisions.
  • Collaborate on hedging, and financial exposure management programs.
  • Partner with Human Resources and operations teams to drive process improvements and performance enhancement initiatives through risk management strategies.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferred: CFA or CPA.
  • Preferred: MBA, or Master’s in Risk Management.
  • 10+ years in corporate risk management, finance, audit, or compliance leadership.
  • Proven experience as a Chief Risk Officer, Risk Manager, or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of risk governance, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.

 KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of managing complex risk scenarios and large datasets.
  • They will demonstrate proven leadership in enterprise risk management, business continuity, and operational resilience across diverse business units and industries.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with a continuous improvement mindset and proficiency in risk management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
