The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company, as a key member of the Senior Management Team.

Chief Financial Officer - CARIB Brewery Limited (Trinidad and Tobago)

Job Summary:

The CFO as a strategic partner of the organization will oversee the preparation of financial statements and reviews the financial and operating statements with key management personnel. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the finance team and ensuring that financial metrics are clearly communicated to their team.

Duties:

  • Lead the financial strategy and planning process: to support long-term business objectives, integrating financial insights with operational and commercial goals.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts: to guide executive decision-making and ensure alignment with Carib’s strategic vision.
  • Provide forward-looking financial recommendations: to identify growth opportunities, enhance profitability, and support investment in innovation and regional expansion.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial and statistical reports: to the Board, Managing Director, Sector CFO, and other stakeholders, fostering transparency and accountability.
  • Direct the preparation of financial outlooks, forecasts, and scenario planning: to proactively manage business risks and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Facilitate robust financial reviews and performance discussions: with the executive and operational teams to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams: on strategic projects, financial modeling, and capital investment decisions, ensuring sound financial governance.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and business intelligence tools: to provide real-time visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs), financial health, and operational efficiency.
  • Strengthen the control environment: by ensuring effective internal controls, risk management frameworks, and compliance with corporate governance standards.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class financial policies, procedures, and systems: to improve operational efficiency and support scalable growth.
  • Lead the end-to-end management of external audits: and ensure the integrity and accuracy of year-end financial statements.
  • Manage strategic financial relationships with banks, regulatory bodies, auditors, and shareholders: building trust and financial credibility for Carib.
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis (FP&A): processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reviews across the organization.
  • Support innovation and new product development initiatives: with robust financial evaluation, investment analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements: including the Central Bank, TTSE, IFRS, and local tax authorities.
  • Champion the implementation of cost optimization programs: and productivity initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and distribution effectiveness.
  • Drive working capital optimization: inventory management, and capital allocation strategies to strengthen the balance sheet and cash flow performance.
  • Oversee the development of annual business plans and financial targets: aligned with Carib’s strategic objectives and market realities.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team: to build a high-performing, agile function equipped for future challenges and succession planning.
  • Continuously evaluate and transform the finance function: leveraging digital tools, automation, and data analytics to enhance speed, accuracy, and strategic value.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACCA certified or any other related professional qualification (e.g. CPA, CA)
  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration would be a distinct advantage
  • Minimum of 10 years' senior-level experience in a similar capacity, preferably within the manufacturing industry
  • Proven experience in financial leadership including strategic planning, financial reporting, budgeting and cost management
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, management accounting principles and financial systems
  • Strong understanding of digital tools, financial automation and data analytics applications in finance
  • An equivalent combination of academic credentials and relevant work
