Barbados Conference Services Limited is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the transformation and growth of the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC)—Barbados’ premier convention and event venue and a strategic driver of the island’s tourism, trade, and cultural development.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector in the Caribbean. The CEO will provide high-level leadership across all functional areas, delivering operational excellence, revenue growth, and stakeholder engagement, while positioning LESC as a world-class hub for regional and international events.
What will you be doing?
As CEO, you will be accountable for:
- Strategic Leadership – Develop and execute long-term growth, modernization, and sustainability plans for LESC.
- National & Regional Impact – Position LESC as a competitive regional hub, supporting Barbados’ tourism, cultural, and economic agenda.
- Operational Excellence – Oversee all departments, ensuring world-class service, efficiency, compliance, and international standards.
- Revenue Growth – Expand income streams through innovative events, strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and increased bookings.
- Financial Stewardship – Lead budgeting, financial planning, and audit compliance to ensure sustainability and profitability.
- Talent & Culture – Build a high-performance workforce with strong succession planning and career development opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Act as the public face of BCSL, fostering collaboration with government, the private sector, and international partners.
- Continuous Improvement – Drive innovation and respond proactively to audits, market changes, and client expectations.
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Strategic Leadership, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive executive leadership in tourism, hospitality, events, or related sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of increasing profitability and driving organizational growth.
- Experience managing complex budgets, revenue proposals, and financial sustainability in a large or comparable organization.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of the hotel, convention, tourism, or service sector at national and international levels.
It would be advantageous to have prior CEO or senior general management experience in a convention centre, hotel, or large-scale hospitality enterprise.
