Key Responsibilities

  • Station Management: Oversee and manage a designated kitchen station (e.g., Saucier, Garde Manger, Pastry) during service hours.
  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in a timely manner, strictly adhering to the Head Chef’s recipes and portion control standards.
  • Quality Control: Check for plating accuracy, garnish, portion size, and ensure taste consistency across all dishes leaving your station.
  • Inventory & Stock: Order, prep, and manage stock rotation for your station, ensuring all necessary ingredients and supplies are readily available.
  • Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise junior staff members and Commis Chefs assigned to your section, enforcing best culinary practices, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Maintain the utmost cleanliness and organization of your station and surrounding work areas, ensuring full compliance with all health and hygiene regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and other colleagues to ensure a smooth, efficient kitchen operation, especially during peak service times.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience (typically 2–4 years) working in a high-volume professional kitchen, ideally in a Chef de Partie or similar supervisory role.
  • Formal culinary training, a certificate of completion, or a culinary school diploma is preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills with expertise in various cooking methods and a broad knowledge of ingredients.
  • Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently while working under pressure.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, especially regarding food quality and presentation.
  • A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a climate of friendly cooperation.
