Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Business Optimization and Systems Control team in the capacity of:

 

 

 

Business Procedures & Reference Documentation Specialist

(Grade 3)

 

 

Responsible for documenting procedures, guidelines and standards for the Sagicor Group, using knowledge of the established writing methodologies, tools and practices, to ensure that the documents meet the requisite standards.

 

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Business Procedures & Reference Documentation Specialist, you will:

 

  • Review and analyze/ interpret process maps and other source documents, collaborate with procedure owners and stakeholders in the creation and amendment of procedures, guidelines and standards, to support standardization and projects/ initiatives undertaken by the Group.
  • Create step-by-step procedural instructions to guide users or procedure manuals, as required.
  • Edit, wordsmith and format procedures/guidelines in accordance with company standards in order to maintain version control.
  • Apply analytical skills to identify and refer gaps and opportunities for improvement/ efficiencies, follow through for resolution and incorporate the required updates in the documentation.
  • Adhere to the established process for requesting feedback and authorization of procedures/ guidelines, escalating, where required, for intervention.
  • Coordinate walk-through sessions, where required, to expedite the review process.
  • Assign and maintain procedure numbers in keeping with the established procedures, where applicable.
  • Co-ordinate distribution/ assist with implementation activities for approved procedures and maintain the repository of documents in an organized manner.
  • Constantly review and maintain the task log and roadmap of assignments to ensure accurate record keeping and timely completion.
  • Work alongside procedure owners to conduct periodic reviews of existing procedures and guidelines.
  • Improve and strengthen the internal control environment and ensure that reporting requirements are met.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies, Banking, Finance, English Language, Communications or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Good knowledge of administration procedures in the insurance industry, and/or at least three (3) years of banking experience would be an asset.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in the preparation of procedures and guidelines, and user training, with proof of performance at a commendable level would be an asset.
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) certification and/or a comprehensive appreciation of/certification in Agile methodology, would be an asset.
  • LOMA Parts I and II Certification would be an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player with very good inter-personal skills.
  • Exposure to process mapping tools, such as IBM BlueWorks Live or similar applications.
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation with great attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, in particular, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Strong research, editing and proofreading skills, sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-disciplined and able to work independently on own initiative and must be proactive.
  • Ability to complete assigned deliverables within timelines and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Business Process Management or re-engineering would be an asset.
