Continuous Improvement Lead

(Grade 3)

 

 

Develop and execute the organization's continuous improvement strategy to achieve operational excellence, cost reduction, enhanced customer satisfaction, and risk mitigation.

 

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Continuous Improvement Lead, you will:

 

  • Promote and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement (CI) across teams by actively modelling continuous improvement behaviours.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities aligned with organizational goals to maximize impact and resource efficiency.
  • Stay informed about continuous improvement trends, tools and best practices, incorporating relevant insights into the organization’s CI approach.
  • Support efforts to build capability by sharing knowledge, tools, templates, and guidance to enhance organizational maturity.
  • Conduct detailed value stream mapping, workflow reviews, and end-to-end process analysis to identify bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies.
  • Use tools such as Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis and supporting data to analyze issues and propose sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams to create simplified, efficient, and optimized future-state processes.
  • Develop well-structured solutions addressing identified root causes to deliver sustainable operational improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, centralization, and straight-through processing to increase speed and reduce manual work.
  • Support the preparation and execution of implementation and transition plans for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders throughout rollout to ensure changes are adopted, stabilized, and delivering intended outcomes.
  • Promote awareness of initiatives, successes, and lessons learned across the organization.
  • Facilitate workshops, ideation sessions, and collaborative discussions that strengthen engagement and problem-solving
  • Track continuous improvement activities, benefits, progress, risks, and implementation status to ensure alignment with governance standards.
  • Prepare and present reports that highlight outcomes, benefits, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in completing business cases by gathering data, estimating impacts, preparing assumptions, and supporting justification.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Management Studies, or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Advanced training in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen would be an asset.
  • Minimum five years (5) years working experience in process improvement, project management or a related field, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering measurable outcomes through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in strategy development and execution.
  • Experience in team leadership and unit management
  • Experience in business analysis, process improvements, and workflow documentation is desirable.
  • Formal training in the tools for process improvement is required.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, BPM, Lean Six Sigma, Business Analysis would be an asset.
  • Exposure to Digitization and Digital principles would be an asset.
  • Experience in process analysis and modelling.
  • Excellent interviewing and facilitation skills
  • Working well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Critical analysis and documentation skills to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Implementation and results oriented.
