Business Intelligence & Insights Engineer

The ideal incumbent supports data-driven decision-making across LIG by designing and maintaining the enterprise analytics architecture and curated data layers required for performance monitoring, transformation initiatives, and operational execution across core business domains.

JOB PURPOSE:

The role architects and operationalizes LIG’s end-to-end analytics capability from data capture and modeling to insight-driven dashboards, alerts, and execution workflows ensuring trusted data, consistent intelligence, and closed-loop decision-making across the enterprise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

•  Architect and operate LIG’s enterprise analytics platform using a scalable Lakehouse/light-warehouse approach.
• Engineer curated data layers and governed dimensional models across Sales, Pricing & Margin, Inventory, Customer, Credit, and Service domains.
• Deliver reusable, high-performance datasets and semantic models powering Power BI and downstream insight products.
• Serve as technical authority for enterprise metrics, governing KPI definitions, logic, grain, cadence, thresholds, and ownership.
• Enforce single-source-of-truth measures and eliminate spreadsheet-driven and conflicting logic.
• Design scalable scorecard models for departmental and Group-level performance reporting.
• Translate operational requirements into governed data systems (pricing exceptions, key accounts, lost sales, demand inputs).
• Define and enforce structured data capture standards, validations, workflows, and audit trails.
• Partner with IT and Apollo developers to embed intelligence into Business Central and Apollo workflows.
• Lead executive dashboards and departmental reporting suites aligned to enterprise priorities.
• Convert analytics into execution mechanisms, including alerts, task queues, and performance playbooks.
• Establish closed-loop systems where insight drives action and outcomes feed back into the data model.
• Provide technical leadership to BI Analysts, enforcing modeling patterns, work standards, and engineering best practices.
• Rapidly prototype insight solutions and mature them into production systems with disciplined change control.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Platform, or Business Intelligence required.
• 4+ years hands-on SQL for data transformation and analysis, with practical experience building fact tables, dimensions, and basic time-intelligence logic.
• 3-5 years experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Power Query, SQL-based workflows, or similar tools to produce clean, reliable datasets.
• Proven experience building Power BI datasets and semantic models, writing DAX measures, implementing refresh schedules, and supporting dashboards and subscriptions.
• Working knowledge of analytics architectures (warehouse or lakehouse concepts), including building curated data layers .
• Experience implementing data validation rules, maintaining KPI logic, and supporting embedded analytics or structured data capture within operational systems.
