Job Summary

The AVP - Digital Transformation has responsibility for the delivery of multiple technology solutions across a number of initiatives through agile teams with a focus on transforming the VM Group business operations to digital.  responsible for leading and delivering enterprise-wide digital initiatives that enhance customer experience, improve operational efficiency, and enable sustainable growth across the VM Group.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Group Chief Operations Officer to develop and implement a Digital Transformation strategy that is aligned with the Group strategic goals.
  • Be fully knowledgeable of business goals for the Victoria Mutual Group and how business units and operations align with the achievement of these goals.
  • Be aware of emerging technological trends and their impact/value to Victoria Mutual Group companies.
  • Review case studies of business transformation worldwide
  • Provide the direction in the identification, analysis and development of opportunities across the VM Group of companies on opportunities for digital transformation of processes
  • Report to Senior Leadership, Board and VM Group team as required
  • Be accountable for the effective resource planning, management, reporting and coordination of projects/initiatives to achieve digital transformation objectives.
  • Develop IT Policies and Procedures jointly with ICT Operations head and other key stakeholders
  • Work with the PMO, Business Intelligence & Enterprise Systems teams to coordinate requests for estimation and resourcing for projects which are linked to/impact digital transformation.
  • Develop annual plans and budgets in keeping with the Digital Transformation Roadmap.
  • Ensure best practices and processes across the digital team for the consistent delivery of digital projects
  • Coordinate delivery of corporate projects with PMO head.
  • Manage allocated resources to ensure that the team delivers on committed tasks.

Qualification & Experience:

  • M.Sc., Computer Science or Business Administration/Management or any other related field
  • Minimum ten (10) years progressively responsible professional level experience in ICT with at least five (5) years in a managerial role.
  • At least two (2) years of experience with ICT policy development

Skills & Competencies:

  • Service-driven with the ability to manage customer expectations and ensure the delivery of quality service and programmes to the Business through continuous improvement and monitoring of IT systems performance.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into executable digital initiatives
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, core systems, data, automation, and emerging technologies
  • Experience leading large-scale digital and technology-enabled transformation programs
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Experience in budget development and adherence
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning and execution, demonstrating ability to apply ICT solutions in solving business problems
  • Proven expertise in managing innovation and delivering innovative solutions to the business
  • Up-to-date knowledge of IT governance best practices as well as developments and emerging trends in the ICT field
  • Working knowledge of core banking systems
  • Expertise in managing major ICT initiatives within a multi-vendor computing environment
  • Working knowledge of principles, practices, procedures and methodologies relating to ICT systems and operations and the acquisition of services, supplies and equipment
