Business Development & Operations Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a versatile and proactive individual who can contribute to business development, client management, and internal operations. This role combines client-facing business development responsibilities with essential internal operations support, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys variety in their work. This in-office position reports to the Director of Operations & Finance. The position will require frequent external client meetings and occasional industry events. The position does not require prior experience in any aspect of our practice areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach to prospective clients
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with current and former clients to generate repeat engagements and referrals
- Lead role in preparation of proposals, presentations, and follow-up for consulting engagements
- Maintain and update client contact and leads tracking database to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with senior consultants and partners to schedule client meetings and provide follow-up communications regarding takeaways and next steps
- Attend industry events and represent the firm to expand our professional network
- Monitor government procurement portals, and other online and print media to identify new opportunities relevant to our service areas.
- Support Director of Operations in coordinating HR and office management tasks as well as supporting vendor relationships and management
Compensation
This position offers a competitive base salary plus a commission based on actual sales performance. Other employee benefits are also provided after a probationary period.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in business development or sales; preferably in consulting services, insurance sales, or pharmaceutical sales environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills. With ability to engage confidently and effectively with clients’ senior executives.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with CRM tools is a plus.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative.
- Familiarity with Jamaican government contracting processes and procurement cycles could be a plus but not required.
- Existing network in relevant industries within government, private sector and non-profits would be a plus, but not required
