The Business Development Officer, under the supervision of the Local Sales Manager, assists the company in meeting its goals and objectives by performing route audits, identifying sales growth opportunities and developing statistical information reports for Management based on audit findings.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Audit data against existing Trade audit sheets by visiting all customers assigned by the Sales Manager.
  • Monitor Merchandising standards and further adherence to Shelf Planograms.
  • Monitor and ensure all pricing policies are accurate.
  • Implement and maintain Trade auditing policies and procedures, inclusive of proper stock management and rotation.
  • Implement methods that measure and evaluate the effectiveness of existing Trade control systems.
  • Identify and establish corrective actions needed to address problem areas related to merchandising and servicing issues.
  • Perform potential sales growth assessment on all merchandised outlets and communicate these assessments via written report to the Sales Manager.
  • Prepare and present reports on Competitor activities and analyse trends and changes in the market.
  • To keep current on local and international beauty trends and present monthly report on major trends and developments.
  • To work with the Sales and Marketing team to develop and execute trade based promotional activities to help drive monthly sales.
  • To increase sales by volume and improve distribution for the entire cosmetics portfolio. 
  • Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as required by the Local Sales Manager and/or Chief Marketing Officer.
  • Conforms to and enforces all established departmental and company policies, procedures and objectives, GMPs, food safety and HSE site protocols;
  • Undergo all job-related training required by the company.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Five (5) years Sales and/ or Marketing experience.
  • Degree in Management or Marketing.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point) applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Email and Internet software.
  • Proven experience in fast moving consumer goods.
  • Must demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
  • Must prioritize in a fast-paced multi-task environment.
  • Must effectively manage time and details.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to develop statistical reports to identify trends and/or problems and establish corrective steps and measures.
  • Must work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have access to a reliable working vehicle at all times.
