The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and securing new advertising revenue opportunities for GMS while growing and retaining existing client relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prospect, qualify and convert new advertising clients across sectors including retail, financial services, telecommunications, FMCG, government, and real estate
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts to maximise revenue retention and upsell opportunities
  • Develop and present compelling advertising proposals and media packages tailored to client objectives
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals in alignment with approved rate cards and credit policies
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline and client database using Salesforce CRM
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive activity, and new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with the creative and operations teams to ensure seamless campaign execution and client satisfaction
  • Represent GMS at industry events, trade shows, and client engagements
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and activity summaries for management
  • Support the rollout of new revenue-generating initiatives including third-party advertising networks and digital signage expansion

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in sales, business development, or account management experience in media or advertising is an asset
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and client relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); proficiency with Salesforce CRM is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of initiative, self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle required
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management Studies, or a related field
