Work location: Hybrid (remote and in-office) - Applications open to resident Caribbean nationals.

Role Overview: The Business Analyst serves as a key link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are clearly understood and effectively addressed. This role involves analyzing current processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and defining both technical and process-based solutions that align with organizational goals. The Business Analyst will work across departments and stakeholder groups to support the successful delivery of initiatives, helping to shape and implement solutions that drive operational efficiency, reduce risk, and maximize the value of technology investments.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze & Recommend: Conduct research to evaluate business needs, uncover inefficiencies, and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Define Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and translate business and technical requirements into clear deliverables.
  • Improve Processes: Identify areas for improvement and recommend optimized, automated, or digitized workflows that drive efficiency.
  • Design Solutions: Work with IT and business teams to design and evaluate solutions aligned with strategic goals and compliance standards.
  • Assess Impact & Risks: Analyze the impact of changes on systems and users, develop risk mitigation strategies, and support informed decision-making.
  • Support Projects: Partner with Project Managers to define scope, manage risks, and support project delivery from initiation to completion.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Build strong relationships across teams, manage expectations, and support change management initiatives.
  • Test & Validate: Contribute to test planning, execution, and troubleshooting to ensure solutions meet defined requirements.
  • Document & Train: Create clear documentation, including process maps and user guides; support end-user training as needed.
  • Analyze Data: Leverage data insights to support business decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Analysts, Project Managers, Change Managers, and Technical Leads to ensure seamless delivery and adoption of new solutions.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in business analysis, with a proven track record delivering both process improvements and technical solutions.
  • Solid background working on Agile and/or Waterfall projects across various sectors — experience in finance, retail, or healthcare preferred.
  • Strong preference for candidates with exposure to the financial services industry and regulatory environments.

Technical Skills

  • Solid grasp of business analysis frameworks and methodologies (e.g., BABOK).
  • Skilled in drafting key documentation such as business requirements, user stories, and process maps.
  • Experienced with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio) and techniques like BPMN.
  • Comfortable using project management software (e.g., Jira, Trello) and enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM).
  • Basic technical understanding of databases, APIs, and software development lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.

Core Competencies

  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and calm under pressure.
  • Effective multitasker with solid organizational and project coordination abilities.

  • Highly skilled in technical writing and documentation.
  • Familiar with industry best practices in business analysis and project delivery.

Certification (Preferred but not required)

  • Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) or PMI-PBA certification.
  • Agile/Scrum certifications (CSPO, CSM, IIBA-AAC, IIBA-CPOA).
