The System Business Analyst acts as a liaison between the Business and the Solution Development Teams / IT / External Consultants.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Functional Requirements Analysis and Documentation 
    • Identify all Technical Stakeholders in the Process
    • Elicit information from Technical Stakeholders in order to 
    • Understand the high level technical architecture in which the functional solution will reside
    • Gain consensus on the framework and approach to designing the functional solution
    • Utilizing Business Requirements document and the stakeholder feedback, define high level functional components of the system ensuring traceability between the business requirements and the functional components of the system
    • Design appropriate data, process and behavioral models that reflect the visible behavior of the system / solution.
    • Verify the functional design with end users and technical stakeholders
    • Collate and document the Functional specifications of the Solution that clearly define to developers, testers and technical architects how a system or process should behave
    • Get consensus (Sign-Off) from stakeholders about that the identified Functional Specifications
    • Liaise with Technical Architect and developers to assist them in interpreting functional design in the development of their technical specifications
    • Liaise with Test team to ensure that they understand the functional design components and associated test conditions when they are developing their test plan.

2.    Testing
    • Utilize the Business Requirements Document to produce User Acceptance Test Conditions
    • Utilize the Functional Specification Document to produce Functional Test Conditions
    • Take ownership of the User acceptance testing process
    • Take a consulting role in the functional and systems integration testing processes.

3.    Secondary support and consulting roles
    • Will participate in technical design and architecture meetings and discussions, informing the Technical architects or consultants on the functional and business requirements where necessary in the translation of requirements into technical designs.
    • Will Liaise with Test Lead and Test Resources consulting with them on functional specifications in the translation of the specifications into a test plan and test scripts.
    • Provide guidance and consultancy to test team re User acceptance testing and functional testing as Functional Expert.
    • Utilize test feedback from test team to assess errors and issues in terms of specified criteria and classify and rank the errors/issues.
    • Liaise with developers to resolve errors/issues in line with predetermined and specified resolution criteria

4.    Innovation, Research and Development
    • The Systems Business Analyst will actively and continuously research new frameworks, methodologies, tools and techniques in the  domain of business and systems improvement and re-engineering projects and will assist in providing direction in the continuous improvement of the Salesforce.
    • The Systems Business Analyst will research potentially new and innovative solutions to business problems and will present or discuss ideas amongst the team communicating recommendations for change.

5.    To perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Manager.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

•    A First Degree in a Technical or Analytical field (Finance, Engineering, Computing) or a related Honors degree with equivalent technical training from a recognized tertiary level educational institution.
•    5 C.X.C. / CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language.
•    2 A’ Level/ CAPE passes.
•    LOMA 280, 290, ACS 100 and all related parts.

•    5 years’ experience in Business Process Re-Engineering/ IT Project Environment. 
•    Experience on Information Systems Development Life Cycle and its various components which include, but are not limited to, Requirements Analysis, Process, and Systems Design, programming, testing and deployment.
•    Working knowledge of Structured and Object-Oriented Systems Analysis and design methods.
•    Experience with reporting tools and techniques and at least 2 years utilizing reporting software.
•    Experience with the use of Process Mapping, UML BPMN and ERD diagrams in documenting business requirements.
•    Experience with the use of SQL/ T-SQL or other database languages.
•    Experience working with minimal supervision or direction


PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The Systems Business Analyst must exhibit a high degree of critical, analytical and problem solving skills and have a mid-level degree of technical understanding. He/ She must be able to work under minimum supervision and should possess the ability to manage tasks effectively while meeting deadlines. He/ She must be highly motivated with strong work ethics and an excellent team spirit. Excellent interpersonal and communication should be inherent as the incumbent will be expected to interact with staff at all levels.  Must work well in Teams.
