Building Contractor

We are looking for a Building Contractor who will oversee construction projects, ensure work is completed on time, within budget and according to local building codes and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with clients and shelter team to ensure all project requirements and specifications are executed
• Monitor project expenses closely to ensure the construction stays within the approved budget
• Oversee daily construction site operations to ensure all work is carried out efficiently
• Supervise workers and subcontractors closely
• Ensure that all construction activities comply with applicable building codes and regulations
• Enforce strict safety policies on-site to protect workers, visitors and the general public
• Monitor the usage of resources on-site to minimize waste

REQUIREMENTS

• Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Associate degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering or related field
• Five or more years of practical, onsite construction experience
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical plans and specifications with a high level of accuracy
• Working knowledge of construction methods, local building codes and regulations in Jamaica
