The Branch Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operations of the Client’s branches. This includes oversight of branch operations, lending, product sales, customer service, security, safety, and overall performance in alignment with the Client’s objectives.

Our client in the Banking and Finance Sector, a well-established financial institution, is seeking to hire a Branch Manager.

Branch Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operations of the Client’s branches. This includes oversight of branch operations, lending, product sales, customer service, security, safety, and overall performance in alignment with the Client’s objectives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Staff Management

  • Lead performance management for branch staff including manpower planning, coaching, motivation, training, development, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure efficient use of manpower to deliver high service standards and meet organisational objectives.
  • Promote a strong sales and service culture through coaching, guidance, and motivation of staff.
  • Ensure active staff participation in the Client’s initiatives, activities, and service commitments.
  • Act as the first intermediary in grievance procedures.

Sales, Lending & Member Relations

  • Achieve branch and individual loan targets through referrals, business development, and member retention.
  • Assist in developing and promoting new loan products.
  • Provide superior member relations and ensure high levels of member satisfaction.
  • Conduct field visits with staff to cross-sell all of the Client’s products and services.
  • Interview corporate and individual members and respond to member concerns.

Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee the processing of loan applications, credit investigations, and approvals within delegated authority.
  • Monitor retail delinquency, conduct periodic loan reviews, and support collection efforts.
  • Ensure full compliance with all of the Client’s policies, procedures, and control measures.
  • Monitor and maintain business systems, equipment, and branch facilities, ensuring timely repairs and upgrades.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards within the branch.
  • Manage branch expenses including overtime, supplies, and general operating costs.
  • Prepare operational and informational reports and recommend process improvements.
  • Sign documents and cheques on behalf of the organisation.
  • Represent the branch on Board-assigned committees (e.g., Member Relations Committee).
  • Work on projects and assignments as directed by the Chief Executive Officer or designate.
  • May be required to perform the duties of the General Manager, Sales & Service in their absence.

Community & Business Development

  • Participate in community activities to increase the Client’s visibility and support business growth.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to advise on strategies for business expansion.
  • Develop strong working relationships across departments to ensure total member satisfaction.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or related field.
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Business or related discipline would be an asset.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in the financial industry, with a minimum of three (3) years Managerial or operating at a senior level.
  • Direct supervisory and staff management experience.
  • Proven working knowledge of Credit Risk Management, Cash Flow Management, Budgeting, Marketing, Investments, and Strategic Planning.
