Our client, a well-established café and food service business, is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join its team.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee and espresso based beverages, along with teas and other specialty drinks. You will engage with customers to take orders, offer menu recommendations, and ensure a positive, welcoming experience. Additional responsibilities include operating coffee machines, handling payments, maintaining a clean workspace, and adhering to food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality beverages.


Key Responsibilities:

● Ensure that all glassware is clean and polished
● Follow all food service health and safety protocols
● Prepare beverages for customers as per recipe
● Prep ingredients for service
● Record wastage from prepped items
● Stock prep and workstations with supplies for service
● Ensure that the bar and front counters are kept clean and in a presentable manner at all
times
● Serve pastries to guests
● Greet guests in a courteous and accommodating manner at all times
Assist team members to execute beverage items as per recipe in a timely manner
● Clean prep and workstations and properly store leftovers
● Use creativity to develop new beverage recipes
● Label and date prepped items being stored
● Assist with maintenance of bar tools and equipment
● Maintain and clean storage shelves and refrigerators
● Provide detailed knowledge of the menu to guests and make recommendations
● Any other tasks/duties assigned by supervisor/operations manager
Job Requirements

• At least 2 years experience being a barista/ beverage making
• Must have an up to date Food Handler’s Permit
• Certification in mixology and or customer would be an asset
• Exceptional listening and communication skills.
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends.
• A polite, engaging personality.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
• Creativity and passion for beverage making.
