Purposes of the role

  • Maintain and/or enhance excellent client relationships.
  • Timely completion of work and timely updating of associated files accurately and in compliance with established accounting standards.
  • Prepare supporting schedules, workbooks, and other necessary documentation.
  • Report directly to the Team Leader or any other individual assigned by the Team Leader.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete all assignments (audits, reviews, compilations, tax, etc.) with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and compliance with established standards.
  • Ensure client files remain up to date.
  • Prepare working paper files, supporting schedules, excel workbooks, and other necessary documentation to support conclusions reached.
  • Ensure all supporting information is thorough and compliant with the relevant audit or reporting standards.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data and audit documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and company standards.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader and other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments.
  • Collaborate with other team members to share insights and improve processes.

Skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications required

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A professional certification or is making progress toward a professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in audit, assurance, or compliance roles.
  • A strong understanding of audit standards, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in using QuickBooks (Desktop and Online versions) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Experience using SmartAudit software (regarded as an asset).
