In partnership with the Retail Business Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will develop associates, drive sales to exceed targets, and maintain inventory levels. Ensure exceptional customer service and a positive brand experience for all internal and external customers.

Job Description     

In partnership with the Retail Business Manager, develop associates for future growth, plan and maintain schemes to achieve or exceed budgeted sales, maintain appropriate inventory levels on sales floor. Ensure all internal and external customers receive exemplary customer service and receive a positive store/brand experience. 

Essential Functions          

  1. Assist the Retail Business Manager in ensuring consistent progress of the sales team towards meeting and surpassing set targets.
  2. Assist the Retail Business Manager and HR Team to recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates to build a talent pipeline to achieve current and future business goals.
  3. Train and motivate all associates through on-going programs in sales, customer service and product knowledge to provide an exceptional customer experience in the store, deliver business results and to achieve World Class Service standards.
  4. Assess performance and provide on-going feedback; assist Retail Business Manager in completion of performance appraisals and development plans. Develop associates to assume increased levels of responsibility.
  5. Manage all customer communication to ensure follow-up and close out of customer quotes, queries, deliveries, service calls and complaints, liaising with all departments where necessary.
  6. Maintain presence through effective floor management and ensure staff coverage in all areas of the store. Further assist with staffing plans and schedules.
  7. Ensure daily restocking list is completed accurately, and the store is restocked fully at all times.  Conduct inventory audits on a regular scheduled basis.
  8. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure ongoing safety training and awareness.
  9. Responsible for ensuring the store meets company guidelines in opening and closing including completion of end of day deposit and physical store close/open.
  10. Ensure store standards are met and maintained, i.e., visuals, cleanliness, signage, safety, etc.
  11. Exemplify and ensure associates comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  12. Work together with other departments to ensure successful flow of communication in order to achieve store goals.
  13. Create and maintain an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with our Code of Conduct.
  14. Additional duties that may be reasonably assigned within the scope of the position.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or other related discipline.
  2. 4+ years experience in a retail, service related or luxury brand environment, with a demonstrated record of hands-on professional experience including, people management.
    Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
  3. Excellent communication skills for interfacing with Customers and Team members.
  4. Data Analysis and Report writing skills.
  5. Must have a good attention to detail, highly organized with good powers of analysis.
  6. Must be able to work a varied schedule to include, occasional nights, weekends, peak periods and the entire holiday season (November - December).
