Unicomer (Barbados) Ltd. is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team in the role of Assistant Logistics Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising all operational and warehouse activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, transfers, restocking and aisle inventory maintenance, to effectively support the organization’s supply chain strategy.
  • Manage team members to ensure all relevant documentation and reporting is kept accurate and up-to-date, taking any necessary action as a result of report findings and recommendations.
  • Oversee the safe and timely unstuffing of shipping containers to ensure all company stock is accounted for and to eliminate storage and demurrage costs.
  • Ensure the maintenance of adequate stock to meet customer and delivery standards through the efficient organisation and scheduling of deliveries, receivables, and collection of goods.
  • Track inventory and maintain internal controls by managing the processes of performing physical counts, reconciling stock against warehousing systems and investigating discrepancies.
  • Analyse Distribution Centre data and performance metrics to provide input for improvement of the department’s overall performance.
  • Maintain and enforce health, safety and security practices and housekeeping standards in warehouse operations, ensuring that safe work practices are adhered to by employees, contractors, customers.
  • Manage staffing within the department and the performance of supervisors and teams in the Distribution Centre to meet operational goals by supporting all human capital processes.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Determined and energetic with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to create a positive work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Organized, with keen attention to detail to work towards established deadlines.
  • Technologically savvy, with high proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, enterprise logistics software, order management/tracking software and other relevant operational systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, including report preparation.
  • Honest with a high level of integrity and ability to maintain discipline and professionalism.

              

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Warehouse Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar management or supervisory role within a retail, warehouse, logistics or distribution environment. Experience leading a contingent and peak season workforce is a plus.
