The CVA Information Management & Digital Tools Assistant provides technical insight on information management, data processes, analytics, and reporting for Cash & Voucher Assistance programming.

Job Purpose 

The CVA Information Management & Digital Tools Assistant provides technical insight on information management, data processes, analytics, and reporting for Cash and Voucher Assistance programming. A secondary focus includes supporting the implementation and transition of digital tools used in the CVA program. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality donor and operational products, including dashboards, reports, maps, and visualizations related to CVA indicators and activities.
  • Support analysis for response decision‑making, including priority needs, transfer value calculation, vulnerability and targeting, monitoring, and PDM.
  • Document, update, and disseminate the CVA process for the operation, including data workflows, decision points, and dependencies.
  • Support task management and knowledge management through clear documentation, process diagrams, and data pipeline maps.
  • Support reconciliation of CVA assistance data and prepare operational reporting for audits, lessons learned, and reviews.
  • Coordinate with IM surge personnel, CVA teams, and other stakeholders to ensure interoperability and consistency across datasets and systems.
  • Ensure CVA data processes and digital tools integrate seamlessly with IM workflows and comply with IFRC data, privacy, and digital governance standards.
  • Provide technical guidance on data protection and data governance across the entire data lifecycle.
  • Strengthen staff and volunteer capacity in IM competencies, tools, and workflows, and ensure effective, sustainable adoption of digital tools.
  • Consolidate and archive final datasets, dashboards, reports, and evidence products for operational closure.
  • Prepare and deliver all handover materials, including documentation, data inventories, knowledge‑transfer products, system architecture, operational guidance, and vendor relationships, to support a responsible transition.

 

Education

REQUIRED

University or professional degree in relevant field or equivalent experience


IFRC Humanitarian Information Analysis Course (HIAC) or relevant Inter Agency analysis related training

PREFERRED
 IFRC Mobile Data Collection and Survey Design Training or equivalent 

 

Experience

REQUIRED

5 to 7 years of proven experience of data analysis in humanitarian contexts, with a minimum of 3 years field experience.


Experience in assessment design and data management related to large scale inter agency or sectoral needs assessment in complex settings


Extensive experience of information management in emergencies


Experience working with Cash and Voucher Assistance Programmes, especially with digital Financial Service Providers 


Proven ability to undertake activities through a participatory, inclusive and consultative 
process

PREFERRED
Experience working with partners 


At least 2 years of experience of working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement

 

Knowledge, Skills and Languages

REQUIRED

Knowledge of data analysis and data visualization (Tableau, Power BI and/or d3)


Strong command of Excel and ease with digital platforms 


Strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex issues and data


Familiarity with current standards and guidelines for humanitarian emergency response, including Sphere

Fluently spoken and written English  

PREFERRED


Strong knowledge of database or data manipulation software: ACCESS, MySQL or 
PostGreSQL, and/or other statistical programmes (STATA or SPSS) and/or programming 
languages (R or Python)

Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic)
