Job Title: Assistant Garage Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
· Certificate or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering would be an asset.
· General Driver’s License (Motor Cars and trucks 4,000Kgs)
· Excellent Communication skills.
· Computer literate. (email, MS Word and Excel)
· Experience with mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance of heavy equipment such as tractors, bulldozers and trucks.
· Working in an environment
Reporting Relationship
· Directly reports to Fleet Manager. Will also have a reporting relationship with the General Manager of Agricultural Operations.
Main Responsibilities
· Coordinate with Fleet Manager the daily and weekly operations of the garage which would include the repairs and maintenance of a fleet of over 150 vehicles inclusive of rubber wheeled tractors, grab loader, sugarcane harvesters, bull dozers, trucks and motor vehicles.
· Communicating and coordinating with outside contractors and service providers.
· Assisting the Fleet Manager in ordering and stocking an appropriate quantity of spare parts.
· Managing team of mechanics, welders and electricians and ensuring work is done in an efficient and safe manner.
· Maintaining discipline and motivating team members.
· Any other duties assigned from time to time.
