Assistant Finance Manager
A well-established food manufacturing company in Kingston is seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to support the financial management and reporting functions of its manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support business performance.
• Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial reports, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and revised estimates for manufacturing business units
• Supervise and provide guidance to accounting staff, including accountants and reconciliation officers
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Prepare financial information and schedules required for annual audits and statutory tax filings
• Monitor and review intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet schedules
• Support the preparation of quarterly consolidation packages for submission to Group Finance
• Review and approve accounting transactions including journal entries, invoices, and payment authorizations
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations including General Consumption Tax (GCT) and income tax filings
• Provide financial analysis and decision-making support to management and business unit leaders
• Participate in management and board meetings to present financial performance reports
• Assist with evaluation of new business initiatives and provide strategic financial guidance
• Ensure adequate insurance coverage is maintained for assigned business units
• Support the development of financial controls and continuous improvement of financial processes
• ACCA Level II or similar professional accounting qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field would be an asset
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation requirements, and IFRS standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead and supervise accounting staff effectively
• Excellent time management and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
