Assistant Accountant

Responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, and to assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements while ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures.

Job Description:

• Effectively and accurately manages the company’s fixed asset register.
• Prepares daily processing of financial transactions to ensure that the company’s financial records are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
• Daily reconciliation and costing reports
• Conduct and prepare analytical reports as required
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports
• Assist with the management of the accounts receivable and the accounts payable portfolios.
• Assist in the preparation of  budgets and forecasts
• Assist with payroll administration
• Assist with preparation and coordination of internal and external audit process

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum ACCA Level 2.
• At least four (4) years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Working experience with a Financial Accounting package would be an asset.
• And / Or two (2) years working experience in the same similar position.
• A combination of relevant qualifications and experience will be considered
