We're hiring Temporary Ground Crew to start Sept/Oct 2025 through April 2026.

Overview: Our client is an international company with nearly 70 years of experience, delivering customized and comprehensive solutions to recognized companies, organizations, and aviation industry environments, across 25 locations throughout the Caribbean and Latin America with teams of over 5,000 highly skilled experts dedicated to excellence, upholding the most rigorous standards in food quality and service.  Due to growth, they are urgently seeking to appoint a larger number of new employees to work in Barbados (may be required to visit other islands) to commence employment in September/October 2025 until April 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for loading/off-loading of baggage, cargo and mail and completing all other assigned duties as detailed below, promptly.
  • Perform all duties related to the transporting of luggage, baggage and portering.
  • Load and unload baggage, co-mail, mail and freight, catering, commissary and other miscellaneous items in accordance with company and airline standards.
  • Conduct the accurate weighing, measuring, and labeling of all freight for export in compliance with company standards.
  • Adhere to regulations as detailed in the Dress Code Regulations of the Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to the Rules and Regulations contained in the Employee Handbook and any subsequent amendments.
  • Notify superiors as far in advance as practical of expected absences from work.
  • Ensure that cordial relations are maintained with all customers and other stakeholders (internal, external, local, and overseas) and do all necessary to ensure that the company maintains a good and positive reputation.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide amazing internal and external customer service experience.
  • Ensure that the environments of the workspaces that comprise the department meet the Health, Safety, and Environment requirements at all times.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of three (3) CXC passes, including Mathematics and English Language
  • A minimum of five 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position or in the Service Industry (e.g. Logistics operatives, Warehouse, Storeroom operatives etc.)
  • Basis knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • A valid Driver’s License would be an asset
  • A valid Police Certificate of Character (or in the process/do not forsee an issue of obtaining a P.C.C).
  • Ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team focused multi-faceted environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift 23kg/confident of passing medical examination.
