Our client is seeking to fill the position of: Administrator Officer - Purchasing 

 

SALARY: $9,500 to $9,975

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Initiate, facilitate and coordinate the full process for complete resolution of insurance and supplier claims with both internal and external stakeholders. 

Review, improve and continuously monitor existing supply chains with the aim of enhancing efficiency
Identify and communicate with prospective suppliers of new goods and services
Conduct research on and/ or collaborate with potential suppliers of new products

Prepare reports and presentations on potential new suppliers and the acceptability of quality specifications and samples submitted, for the review of the requesting departments and/or the New Products Committee 

Actively pursue responses/inputs from external and internal stakeholders
Conduct research and prepare comparative costs analyses where required so as to determine and/or demonstrate if any tangible cost savings and/or benefits accrue with alternative available supply and manufacture options, thereby aiding the company's decisions making process inclusive of the areas of make or buy and new products.
Research and report on current trends in the food industry as they impact on the Company's operations,

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

A first degree in Management, Purchasing, Finance or a combination. 

Strong ability to use MS office suite 

Experience using MS Great Plains Dynamics program or equivalent purchasing 

software. 

At least 3 years' progressive experience in Supply Chain management field. 

Any other combination of suitable qualifications and experience 


OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Strong negotiation skills. 

Ability to work well under pressure. 

Ability to meet strict deadlines with little supervision. 

Very meticulous with a keen eye for details.
