Actuarial Analyst - General Insurance

Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Corporate Actuarial team in the capacity of:

Actuarial Analyst - General Insurance
(Grade 3)

Perform calculations and validations.

Prepare reports and maintain computerized and manual files and records pertinent to the actuarial requirements of the Company as guided by the Actuary.

Location: Kingston

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will:

• Assist with the preparation of data for determining quarter loss reserves.
• Provide support for ad hoc actuarial and data issues as they arise
• Assist with any other actuarial calculations. 
• Estimate claims reserves and prepare reserve analysis and trend analysis.
• Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, or Mathematics from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Successfully completed or is pursuing at least two CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society) exams or has achieved a B+ or above grade in a Actuarial Science/ Mathematics degree course work.
• Understanding of property casualty insurance ratemaking and reserving principles would be an asset. 
• At least one year working experience as an Actuarial Analyst or related experience would be an asset. 
• Strong mathematical, computing, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Working knowledge of computer software packages particularly spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
