Overview
The Manager, Accounting and Control, Commnet is responsible for the financial control of the entities under the Commnet Group, in compliance with the relevant financial reporting standards, tax regulations and industry legislation.
Key Responsibilities (Ad hoc and other reports may be completed as requested)
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other relevant laws.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and support.
- Participate in cross training of accounting team members across the various functions of the International Shared Services function.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity and optimal financial health.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audits.
- Lead the month-end closing process.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Collaborate with various other departments to align on financial strategies and overall business goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the finance function and the heads of each entity to provide proactive financial advice and support to entity leaders.
- Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
Job Requirements
- Degree in finance/accounting or related qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA).
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Understanding of US GAAP would be an asset.
- Experience in rental contract type accounting
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and financial planning software.

Interactions also occur with vendors and consulting subject matter experts and resources on matters relating to the Company’s projects, operations and strategic initiatives. The officer may also interact with the shareholder’s auditors, regulators, and the Company’s legal, and accounting advisors from time to time, as may be consistent with the responsibilities of the job.
