Accounting Officer

Salary: TT$7,500

Location: P.O.S

Employment Type: 3 month contract- part time (must be available immediately)

Industry: Non profit organisation

 

 

General Accountability

Reporting to the Accounting Lead, the Accounting Officer will support the financial activities by reviewing all financial documents and update the accounting system to the annual operating plan. The incumbent will report on expenditure, produce quality data in a timely and sustainable manner, in addition to carrying out routine accounting activities.

 

Specific Accountabilities

  • Manage Accounting software (QuickBooks) and perform advanced accounting functions such as ledger/account maintenance, reconciliation, posting, analyzing, auditing and verifying internal records and reports.
  • Monitor and reconcile Accounts Receivables (customer statements, refunds and deposits)
  • Reconciliation of Payables to execute cheques, wire transfers, bank drafts and ACH payments.
  • Prepare Monthly Management Accounts
  • Prepare monthly retainer invoices inclusive of Fee-for-Service Invoices.
  • Provide supervision of the Accounting Clerk.
  • Execute other tasks of a financial/administrative nature, as required, to ensure the efficient execution of the activities of the company.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or completion of ACCA Level II
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets and data management systems.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office
  • Demonstrated skill in providing a high level of service to multiple customers, ideally in a non-profit context.
  • Experience in project financial management is desirable.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking,                interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to build trust, credibility, and effective working relationships with all levels of staff within the organization, and with external stakeholders.
