Our client is a medium sized company operating in Barbados and providing accounting and related business services to companies in Barbados. We are seeking an Accounting/Finance professional to join our client’s team. Potential candidates must be seeking an excellent opportunity to develop and advance their career in Accountancy/Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities Summary

• Establish and maintain excellent Client Relations.
• Consistently meet client obligations and keep commitments made to clients.
• Complete client assignments accurately and expeditiously, and in compliance with established standards.
• Ensure up-to-date client files are maintained re: audits, reviews, compilations, tax etc.
• Complete all assignments (audits, reviews, compilations, tax, etc.) with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with established standards.
• Prepare working paper files, supporting schedules, excel workbooks, and other necessary documentation to support conclusions and recommendations.
• Submit required documents to clients and regulatory authorities in a timely manner.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data and audit documentation.
• Ensure that completed work complies with applicable regulatory and company standards.
• Work collaboratively with management and other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of all work allocated or assigned.
• Cooperate and collaborate with other team members on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent, or close to certification.
• A minimum of five years’ experience working in Accountancy/Finance of which a minimum of three years must have been in a supervisory role.
• A minimum of two years experience working in Audit with a strong understanding of audit standards, Barbados’ regulatory requirements and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks (Desktop and online versions) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and experience using SmartAudit software would be an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent dress, appearance, and deportment standards.
• Embraces a high degree of integrity and professionalism
