ACCOUNTING CLERK
Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping duties in support of the accounting operation. This includes keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and conducting reconciliations.
Specific Duties:
Maintain accounting database; update documents and records.
File documents; make paper and electronic copies.
Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors.
Prepare reports as necessary.
Issue checks for accounts payable.
Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and inputting data.
Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, savings, deductions, etc.
Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes and other deductions.
Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Provide payroll information by responding to questions and requests.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
At least 5 CXC/GCE subjects including English Language and Math/Accounts; Associate’s Degree or relevant certification is a plus.
Proven accounting experience to include that of an Accounts Payable Clerk.
Competency in Microsoft Office, databases and accounting software.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets.

Ability to work under pressure and without constant supervision.
Accuracy and attention to detail and an aptitude for numbers.
Well organized, with the ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
