Accounting Clerk

Location: Chaguaramas

Salary: TT$6,000 to $7,000

Employment: Permanent

 

 Job Function/Scope

  • Logging and coding of invoices in Peachtree AP Database.
  • Weekly coordination of wire transfer vendor payments.
  • Timely and efficient application of payments to vendors.
  • Liaising with vendors regarding invoices and payment queries.
  • Preparing all D. S. Belcon Purchase Orders.
  • Preparation of relevant vendor tracking sheets.
  • Other duties as assigned by Accountant.
  • Maintain vendor records and reconcile statements in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date filing system of all vendor payments.
  • Co-ordinate activities leading up to preparation of monthly reports.

 2.       Key Tasks and Targets

  • Ensure compliance with The Company’s . Accounting practices and continually meet agreed accounts AR & AP monthly objectives.
  • In the discharge of these duties and responsibilities, the position must maintain strong internal controls, ensure adherence to operating policies and procedures, ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data, and ensure that the company meets its’ regulatory obligations.

 3.       Performance Measurement

Detailed key tasks and targets, which include planning/analysis and interpretation, will be agreed and set each year. Actual performance will be measured against the achievement of these assigned objectives within the Company internal “Employee Appraisal Program, including feedback from internal and external customers.

 4.       Qualifications/Experience

  • Semi-professional Accounting Certification or a minimum of 3 years accounting or finance related experience in a corporate environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Administrative Skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative

  • Accounting software
