1. GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT

 JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent is responsible for the monthly financial closing process, coordinating all inputs to ensure the financial accounts are prepared on a timely basis, and accounting policies and procedures are adhered to. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls within the department.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares Financial Accounts by coordinating all journals and inputs required. Financial Accounts include Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and all the appropriate supporting schedules.
  • Ensures compliance with the company’s Reporting Standards and Report format, reconciliation of balances, appropriate supporting schedules for financial statements, and certification that all internal controls have been reviewed and performed, and that timelines of reporting deadlines are met.
  • Completion of key balance sheet schedules with reconciling items e.g. leases, intercompany, A&P, prepayments etc.
  • Support and coordinate the requirements of the External Auditors for both the year-end and interim process.
  • Coordinate the Fixed Asset Count, Useful life review and review of the Fixed Asset Register
  • Execution of at least one (1) Compliance check in ALL the following areas:
    • Order to Cash (O2C); Inventory Management; Cash Sales;
    • Procure to Pay (P2P); Revenue Audits
  • Keep abreast with IFRS to ensure compliance with key standards such as; IFRS 9, IFRS 15,  and IFRS 16,  with preparation of position papers to justify same.
  • Assists in the hiring and orientation of direct-report employees: trains, supervises, coaches and evaluates direct-report employee, conducting performance appraisals.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Accounting and Finance.
  • Working knowledge of System Dynamics/Great Plains is an asset.

 

2. MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

JOB SUMMARY

The Management Accountant will specialise in cost and management accounting as a critical contributor to the company’s financial management. The incumbent will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, supporting the financial analysis and strategic decision-making processes for the operations team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate budgets and forecasts to assist in strategic planning.
  • Analyse operating costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee payroll accounting and management, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Develop and maintain performance reports, focusing on KPIs and variance analysis.
  • Assist in developing and evaluating pricing strategies for the company's products.
  • Conduct financial analysis for potential investments and capital projects.
  • Work with the Finance and Operations Teams to maintain strong internal controls.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency in financial operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial insights and decision support.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other financial regulations.
  • Provides support and training on the applications used in operations.
  • Assist the Financial Accountant in coordinating audits and ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end closing procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the company's financial operations.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • ACCA qualified / Masters Corporate Finance / or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Management Accounting, including at least three (3) years in Accounting and Finance.
  • Working knowledge of System Dynamics/Great Plains is an asset.
  • Successful record in managing teams and process improvement initiatives.
  • Robust financial analysis, budgeting, cost accounting, and operational management knowledge.
