The Accountant manages financial records, reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance. The role supports project teams, handles payables and receivables, performs analysis, and ensures accuracy, controls, and timely financial outputs within the Western Resilience Water Project.

Role Purpose
To manage financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting strategic financial planning, and maintaining internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Financial recordkeeping
- Maintain and update the general ledger and all accounting records
- Record daily financial transactions: invoices, expenses, bank operations.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis.
Financial reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).
- Assist with analytical reports for management (KPI, variances, margin analysis).
- Ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with applicable standards (IFRS, GAAP, or local standards).
Account Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and manage payment schedules.
- Issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Support credit control and maintain aging reports.
Budgeting & Analysis
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget execution and analyze variances.
- Contribute to cost control initiatives and financial optimization.
Cash Flow Management
- Monitor daily cash balances and forecast liquidity needs.
- Assist in preparing cash flow reports.
Systems Used:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting, Power BI will be a plus

Internal: Project Management and Construction team
External: Subcontractors, Suppliers, Banks and any other stakeholders.
Personal Qualities and Experience
Core & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- CPA or ACCA certification (preferred)
- Experience in accounting/finance roles
- Knowledge of GAAP or IFRS
