Objectives and Purpose of the Job:

To ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions while actively supporting manufacturing operations through effective cost control, providing visibility, and financial monitoring within the plant environment.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the timely and accurate processing, review, and posting of accounting transactions in accordance with company policies, accounting standards, internal controls, and reporting deadlines.
  2. Prepare, review, and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules, ensuring reconciling items are properly investigated and resolved. 
  3.  Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments within the ERP system.
  4.  Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  5. Prepare financial analyses, management reports, variance analyses, and ad hoc schedules to support business and reporting requirements.
  6. Coordinate and support statutory, tax, and regulatory filings, including preparation and review of applicable tax schedules and submissions.
  7.  Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
  8. Support internal and external audits through the preparation and review of reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  9. Participate in inventory stock-taking activities, including reconciliation of physical counts to system records and investigation of inventory variances.
  10. Support continuous improvement initiatives, internal controls, and compliance with the Company’s Food Safety and Safety, Health & Environment (S.H.E.) programmes and other regulatory requirements.

 Academic/Technical/Management: Experience and Qualifications:

  1. ACCA level 3 or B.Sc. in Accounting
  2. Six (6) years related experience

 Other Personal or General Characteristics:

  1. Keen and Analytical mind.
  2. Professional and mature conduct.
  3. Detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  4. Ability to interact effectively in a fast-paced matrix environment and gain support with all levels of    the organization
  5. Have excellent communication, presentation and writing skills.
  6. Have a positive approach to teamwork.
