SALARY SCALE: $5,612,841.27 - $6,418,683.77 per annum.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing support to the project teams by preparing electronic and manual designs and construction drawings relative to all phases of the construction at the work sites, ensuring that the interests of the Port Authority are met and there is compliance with architects’/ engineers’ drawings and specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- BSc degree in Architecture/Architectural Design
- One year’s experience in the field.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide architectural support to review and adjust drawings, specifications, cost estimates, construction material recommendations submitted by external architects and contractors to ensure adherence to contract; notify AVP, Planning & Design of discrepancies.
- Attend site/client meetings as directed and assist in documenting site issues and status reports.
- Develop and prepare construction documents, plans, and details; execute red-marked revisions; complete and file paperwork involved in the design process, ensuring compliance with legal specifications and company procedures.
- Review work of contractors, ensuring specified materials are being used, dimensions are as drawn, and quality complies with contract.
- Meet with requesters to determine requirements of projects; assess the feasibility of projects and make recommendations in relation to adjustments to the drawings.
- Prepare original design work and 3D models utilising specifications, sketches, and ideas on developing designs, through the different phases of assigned projects.
- Analyse space utilisation effectiveness and changing demands for space needs: recommend actions to meet new requirements.
- Collect/compile data for planning, capital improvement and long-range planning, architectural plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, etc.
- Prepare plans for existing buildings where plans are not available.
- Conduct preliminary studies of proposed projects to obtain information as to space and design requirements, obtain measurements, make sketches preliminary to the preparation of drawing.
- Prepare scale drawing of details required for contract drawing, design development drawings, “record” drawings on completion of construction, layout and preliminary sketch of project as directed.
- Develop detailed working drawings and specifications after approval for project has been obtained.
- Facilitate the tender/bid processes as directed.
- Any other duties assigned.
