We’re recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading financial services organisation, seeking an experienced Senior Life Reinsurance Actuary to join their Bermuda-based team.
This is a senior-level opportunity for an accomplished actuarial professional to play a key role in long-term insurance and reinsurance oversight, technical analysis, capital assessment, and strategic risk initiatives within a dynamic international market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support actuarial reviews relating to long-term insurance and reinsurance business
- Assess reserving practices, capital adequacy, underwriting risks, and financial performance
- Support reviews of internal capital models and broader risk management frameworks
- Participate in on-site reviews, technical assessments, and stakeholder meetings
- Contribute to the development of actuarial analytics, benchmarking, and industry best practices
- Assist with licensing, authorisation, and regulatory-related submissions
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Represent the organisation at industry meetings, conferences, and professional engagements
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline
- Professional actuarial designation such as FSA, FIA, FCIA, or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant long-term insurance or reinsurance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior-level role within financial services
- Strong knowledge of pricing, reserving, capital modelling, financial reporting, and risk management within life insurance/reinsurance
- Experience working with capital frameworks, solvency models, and actuarial analytics
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
