Position Summary
The CAD Technician is responsible for the preparation, development, and coordination of technical drawings and documentation for architectural and construction projects. The role involves translating conceptual and schematic designs into accurate CAD drawings while ensuring compliance with project standards, local regulations, and coordination requirements with consultants and project teams.
The CAD Technician will work closely with architects, designers, engineers, and project managers to support the development of design, construction, and as-built documentation for a variety of commercial, residential, retail, industrial, and mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities
· Prepare accurate CAD drawings and technical documentation based on architectural sketches, markups, and design instructions.
· Assist in the development of schematic, design development, and construction drawings.
· Revise and update drawings according to internal reviews, consultant coordination, and client comments.
· Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, and other consultant information.
· Maintain drawing registers, file organization, and project documentation standards.
· Produce plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and presentation layouts.
· Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards and applicable building regulations.
· Support site coordination by updating drawings with field conditions and as-built information when required.
· Assist with quantity take-offs and basic technical coordination when necessary.
· Organize and manage digital project files and backups.
· Participate in coordination meetings and internal project reviews.
· Ensure deadlines and drawing issue schedules are met efficiently.

Required Qualifications
· Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in architectural or construction drafting.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
· Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or BIM software is considered an asset.
· Familiarity with construction documentation and detailing standards.
· Basic understanding of building systems and construction methods.
· Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Good communication and teamwork abilities.
· Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Experience in retail, commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
· Knowledge of local planning and building approval processes.
