Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Report to: Hotel Accountant

Supports the Accountant in managing all financial activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• Assist with maintaining company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual preparation of financial statements.
• Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts within established deadlines.
• Reconciliation of the Bank’s general ledger accounts
• Coordinate and manage payments and billing details of external service providers and vendors.
• Ensure statutory liabilities are accurately computed and paid on a timely basis.
• Assist with preparing of variance analysis and interpretation of financial data on financial performance.
• Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
• Directly monitor and follow-up for collection of ALL debts and maintain a 30 days Credit Policy
• Assist with supervising of the accounting and purchasing team
• Assist with reviewing of payroll
• Create daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management and team members.
• Performs any other related tasks / duties as required.
- Deputize in the absence of the Hotel Accountant
Perform any other reasonable duties which may be requested by the General Manager or Directors of the company from time to time.
Education & Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor Degree in accounting
Experience:
• At least three (3) years’ experience handling financial and accounting functions
• At least (2) years supervisory experience or equivalent is an asset
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and Room Master is an asset
• Knowledge of business controls and processes
• Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
• Industry related experience is an asset
• Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
