The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:
COOKS
- Sets up the kitchen with required cooking utensils and equipment before service.
- Checks the freshness of food items daily and safely discards expired products.
- Prepares meals efficiently in accordance with established menus and dietary requirements.
- Produces a variety of baked goods following standard recipes and quality benchmarks.
- Modifies recipes appropriately to accommodate specific customer requests and allergies.
- Follows instructions from supervisors accurately to maintain smooth station operations.
- Assists with catering operations for special functions and events on assigned days (including Sundays)
- Experiments with culinary techniques and suggests new ingredients to improve dishes.
- Helps the Kitchen Supervisor design innovative menu offerings to enhance the overall experience.
- Supports the kitchen team with systematic stock rotation and inventory management.
- Maintains strict compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications
- Certificate in Commercial Food Preparation Level 2 NTC VET
- Food Handlers permit
- Proven experience in a customer service role is an advantage.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in the foods services industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Police Record no longer that six months old.
- References (2); Acceptable: High Ranking Police Officer, Justice of the Peace or a Minister of Religion.

LINE SERVER
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Offering pleasant and courteous service toallstaff and students or any person doing business with the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean/ Cafeteria.
2) Assisting with food preparation and serving of meals, snacks, confectioners, sandwiches and other items sold at the UCC cafeteria as required.
3) Assist with the setting-up and clearing of tables and in the stocking of standard canteen merchandise and inventories.
4) Have knowledge of kitchen utensils, equipments and their usage.
5) Ensure that all surrounding areas of the cafeteria are kept clean and attractive and participate in routine cleaning of the cafeteria, mops, floors, clean table and counters.
6) Any other duties that may be assigned to you
Qualification
- Should have at least 3 CXC subjects
- Level 2 NTC VET
- Food Handlers permit
Requirements
